Training of Trainers session on child labour in agriculture and protecting children from pesticide exposure and adaptation and field test of the facilitator’s visual guide “Protect children from pesticides!”

Outcomes

  1. Strengthened national capacity to address child labor in agriculture and pesticide risks reduction;
  2. Received an overview of exposure scenarios and unsafe practices commonly adopted by farmers in Nepal.
  3. Identified possible actions, intentional or unintentional, that could increase the risk of exposure to hazardous pesticides;
  4. Increased awareness of pesticide exposure risks and the impact on farmers' health during various agricultural tasks;
  5. Pilot tested the facilitator’s visual guide “Protect children from pesticide!” in rural communities and in schools with children aged 14-17 and collected feedback for improvement
  6. Discussed with DNAs the status of implementation of the Rotterdam Convention
