Outcome

The inception workshop brought together the Designated National Authorities (DNAs) of the 3 countries for the Rotterdam Convention, staff of ministries responsible for pesticide management and regulation, enumerators that will conduct pesticide use surveys, and other experts. Its achieved objectives were to:

  • Present the proposed activities of the project;
  • Present Article 6 of the Rotterdam Convention of SHPFs;
  • Present and discuss procedures to identify SHPFs and HHPs;
  • Discuss survey techniques to assess pesticide use and risks in the field;
  • Elaborate national work plans for implementation of the project.
  • Discuss the status of the implementation of the key obligations of the Rotterdam Convention with DNAs of the three countries such as import responses and notifications of Final regulatory actions.
