The training workshop brought together 30 participants of ministries responsible for pesticide management and regulation, enumerators that will conduct pesticide use surveys, and other experts. Its achieved objectives were to:
- Present the proposed activities of the project;
- Present an overview of the Rotterdam Convention and key obligations
- Present Article 6 of the Rotterdam Convention of SHPFs;
- Present and discuss procedures to identify SHPFs;
- Discuss survey techniques to assess pesticide use and risks in the field;
- Elaborate work plans for the implementation of the field survey in the targeted regions.
- Discuss the status of the implementation of the key obligations of the Rotterdam Convention with DNA such as import responses
