Outcomes

The training workshop brought together 30 participants of ministries responsible for pesticide management and regulation, enumerators that will conduct pesticide use surveys, and other experts. Its achieved objectives were to:

  • Present the proposed activities of the project;
  • Present an overview of the Rotterdam Convention and key obligations
  • Present Article 6 of the Rotterdam Convention of SHPFs;
  • Present and discuss procedures to identify SHPFs;
  • Discuss survey techniques to assess pesticide use and risks in the field;
  • Elaborate work plans for the implementation of the field survey in the targeted regions.
  • Discuss the status of the implementation of the key obligations of the Rotterdam Convention with DNA such as import responses
