Capacity building on gender issues and pesticides risk management for pest control in horticulture, cassava and banana production

Outcomes

1. Field visits to selected plots in Kaskazini and Kusini Unguja
2. Conduct a training session on Integrated Pest Management
3. Conduct Training of Trainers to 40 local extension agents on gender issues and pesticide management, including training on how to use the capacity development tool (role play): “Acting against risks”.
4. Test the role play amongst farmers in selected communities with all the extension officers as facilitators
5. Sharing feedback and results collected the farming communities in a final TOT session and establish a way forward to include the roleplay in future activities of the extension officers
6. Develop key messages for different audiences on gender-related pesticide risks and solutions in banana and cassava value chains.
