Training on the Rotterdam Convention for Tunisia

Highlights: Tunisia requested a training on the Rotterdam Convention targeting its Technical Committee on the health and environmental safety of chemical products, including its Designated National Authorities (DNAs). The training will cover topics such as the key mechanisms and actors under the Convention, the listing of chemicals in Annex III, notifications of final regulatory action, import responses and exchange of information. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss the role of the Committee in the implementation of the Convention.

Organizers: The Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm (BRS) Conventions in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment of Tunisia

Meeting objectives: To strengthen the knowledge and capacity of the Tunisia’s Committee and DNAs to implement the Rotterdam Convention.

Target audience: Tunisia’s Technical Committee on the health and environmental safety of chemical products and DNAs.
