Highlights: The fourth meeting of the Compliance Committee will continue work related to the review of a number of systemic issues of general compliance set out in the programme of work for the biennium 2026-2027. This will include: laws, regulations, policies, procedures and other measures to implement the Convention; notifications of final regulatory actions; and exports and imports of chemicals listed in Annex III amongst other issues. The Committee is meet back-to-back with the seventeenth meeting of the Basel Convention Implementation and Compliance Committee and second meeting of the Stockholm Convention Compliance Committee, with a joint session on issues of common interest on 19 June 2026.
It is not expected that there would be specific submissions before the Committee, although as mandated by the Conference of the Parties, the Committee continues to accord priority to dealing with specific submissions regarding Party compliance so as to assist Parties should such submissions be made to it.
The Committee is expected to advance its work that will inform the development of its report and recommendations to the Conference of the Parties in 2027.
