The Convention’s Programme of Work (PoW), specifically Activity 15 on ‘Training and capacity development activities under the Rotterdam Convention, provides the basis for the technical assistance delivered by the Secretariat, which is subject to the availability of resources. Relevant areas of work under PoW Activity 15 include capacity building on Convention’s provisions/mechanisms and on national action plans (NAPs); risk evaluations and final regulatory actions; the PIC procedure, including import responses, and export notifications; and strengthening Parties' capacities to propose Severely Hazardous Pesticide Formulations (SHPF).
