1. The twenty-second meeting of the Chemical Review Committee will be held in Rome from 15 to 18 September 2026. The meeting will be opened by the interim Chair of the Committee, Stephen Sangster (Belize), at 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.

By decision RC-2/2, the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure for Certain Hazardous Chemicals and Pesticides in International Trade adopted a process for the preparation of draft decision guidance documents, which was subsequently amended by decisions RC-6/3 and RC-7/3. In accordance with the process, task groups are to be established for notifications of chemicals and severely hazardous pesticide formulations scheduled for consideration by the Chemical Review Committee. For ease of reference, the procedure is set out in the handbook of working procedures and policy guidance for the Committee.

1. At its twenty-first meeting, the Chemical Review Committee considered revised versions of the human health and environmental incident report forms. The forms had been prepared by an intersessional task group with a view to updating and clarifying them to ensure that sufficient information was available to the Committee in its consideration of severely hazardous pesticide formulations in line with Article 6 of the Convention and the requirements of Annex IV to the Convention. Following discussion and further revisions of the forms at the twenty-first meeting, including in contact group, the Committee agreed that the intersessional task group would continue its work, working by electronic means, including as appropriate through online meetings. The task group’s mandate was to further revise the human health incident report form based on the outcome of the contact group and, with support from the Secretariat, to harmonize the formatting, layout and, if necessary, content, between the human health and environmental incident report forms.

2. The indicative list is intended to assist Parties and other stakeholders in identifying substances covered by the listing of PFOA, its salts and PFOA-related compounds in Annex III to the Convention.
