Meeting of the Bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention

Highlights: The Bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention met online on 20 May 2026. The Bureau discussed, among other things, the provisional agenda and preparations of the thirteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention in 2027.

Meeting participants: Ms. María Inés Esquivel, President of the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention, chaired the meeting, which was attended by the two Vice-Presidents and two ex-officio Bureau members, i.e. the interim Chair of the Chemical Review Committee, and the Chair of the Compliance Committee.

Next meeting: The bureaux of the conference of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions will meet on 23–24 November 2026 in Geneva, to discuss, among other things, the organization of work of the meetings of the conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions taking place from 19 to 30 April 2027 in Panama City.
