Outcome

Participants were trained in the use of Severely Hazardous Pesticide Formulation (SHPF) forms to report pesticide poisoning, both human health and environmental accidents. The official reporting template of the Ministry of Health on poisoning was reviewed and suggestions made to modify the form to capture more detailed information on active ingredient, concentration and formulation of the pesticide causing poisoning. Each of the modules (human health-SHPF, environment-SHPF) was presented by a facilitator, after which targeted exercises were conducted by smaller groups of participants to review and practice the modules’ contents. The results of each exercise was presented by a participant. This was generally followed by a plenary discussion, linking the challenges and lack of progress on national level.
